The First Order, also known simply as the Order, was an autocratic military junta—formed from a remnant of the Galactic Empire—that grew from a hermit state in the Unknown Regions to the dominant galactic power. A successor state to the Empire, the First Order was dominated by a ruling political and military human class. The First Order gradually colonized large swathes of the Unknown Regions during the reign of Supreme Leader Snoke, claiming the territory which would serve a crucial role in the regime's plan to eventually seize the galaxy at large. Yet despite their conquest, the First Order's expansion and military rule was met with resistance and rebellion.

These fleet engineers served the First Order, notably aboard the Supremacy and aboard Star Destroyers like the Finalizer.
