GROUNDBREAKER 2027 Project: A New Home For Atlanta Brick Co
In 2015, after a few years of selling online and at conventions, Atlanta Brick Co® opened our first Building Brick Retail Store in a monthly U-Haul rental warehouse-style building. Everyone knows LEGO® sets take up A LOT of space, so 5 years later, we moved into our current, bigger retail space right next door. In 2025, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary and made the decision to expand yet again into a brand-new building of our own design, no longer having to share outdated space in a former restaurant with a used car dealership.
We plan to open our new store, just a few miles down the road from our current location in Spring of 2027. This new store will be over 15,000 square feet of fantastic LEGO® sets, Minifigures, parts, displays, party room, and even museum and art exhibits, making it officially the world's largest building brick toy store & museum!
We currently rent off-site warehouse space for about half of our inventory, including many products that are not available in-store. With everything under one roof, we will be more efficient, offering more products available for sale to our in-person customers and faster turn-around time for our online customers.
In the world of LEGO® display, aesthetics are paramount. In our new building, we will have the room to display far more LEGO® products than ever before in a more well-organized environment. This will include custom-built displays featuring lights and motion, new products, old museum style pieces, and award-winning custom built LEGO MOCs. Our new store will be an innovative and awe-inspiring experience for all ages!
In the interest of preserving and finding new homes for LEGO® products, we clean and repair used built LEGO® sets, restore and inventory LEGO® sets under our Certified Pre-Owned condition, and clean and sort tens of thousands of previously owned LEGO® pieces for builders to make their own creations. We donate thousands of pounds of LEGO® bricks to organizations such as schools and non-profits every year to keep interest in the hobby thriving for decades to come! We also preserve vintage, rare, and one-of-a-kind LEGO® items dating as far back as the 1930's for future generations to learn about and enjoy through our museum-style display.
Our new building will feature specially designed spaces to accommodate all of the following experiences where customers will be able to see more of the behind-the-scenes processes we do every day:
- Commission Build Studio for designing custom models
- State of the art audio/video recording studio for our YouTube and Podcasts
- An Event Room for hosting parties, events, camps, meetings, etc.
- Inventory rooms
- Trade Counter where we Buy, Sell, and Trade every day
- Parts Department where you can purchase individual parts for sets or projects
- T-shirt factory for pressing shirts to order
- Larger, more dedicated sorting room
- Wash/cleaning room
- Daily work processes visible to the public
We have not been able to get this far without the continued support of our amazing customers. We are now asking for your support again by being a part of our new building project and be a part of our GROUNDBREAKER Team!
